This week was really good. It started off a little chilly, but then it warmed up. So Tuesday we went up to an area which is not really familiar for us. 2 weeks ago a lady and her cute little kids had come to church and we had never seen her before. We went and talked to her and we found out she was a member. So we planned on visiting her this week when she had time. It took us a while to find her house, but we found it. She is adorable, and has 2 beautiful kids! One of them is 4 and she is just a little spunky spirit, and the other is 1. Her 4 year old was super friendly, she reminded me of Maddy when she was little, and she kept playing with me the whole time. She even drew the cutest pictures for me while we shared a message with her mom.
We also visited our cute little investigator Sofia this week. It was so cute because she was waiting at the gate for us to arrive. She gets so excited to be taught and always has her pamphlets out and her Book of Mormon. Oh and her grandma gave her a hymn book and she has been practicing. When we invited her to be baptized on a specific date, she got really sad. She told us that she wanted to be baptized this very Sunday, but she said she could wait. It was so cute!
We also visited a recent convert this week, and it just melted my heart... His name is Jose and he is
Kaiden's age. We have been reading the
Book of Mormon with him for kids, and now he reads 4 or 5 pages everyday. He was so excited to tell us all about what he had learned and share all about
Moroni and
Nephi! You just can't help but be filled with joy when you see members strengthening their testimonies. Also his dad came and told us how grateful he is that we come to his house and read with his kids. It has been really hard for him, because his wife has been in Spain for 3 years working and wont return for another 5 years. After their mom left the kids have fallen from the church, but now because of the
Book of Mormon 3 of them were in church this week.
So for the grand finale... Sunday! So let me rewind a bit... our ward put a goal to bring at least one friend, family member, or less active member to our ward conference. Well, our ward represented!!!! We had over 50 more people in church yesterday. It was packed and ALL the seats were full. There were families who had not been to church in over years as well as new faces who had never been to church before! We also had a powerful sacrament meeting filled with the spirit. The stake president talked about
and also his counselor. After we were frantically trying to greet everyone and planning when we could visit all these people. We couldn't talk to everyone, so this coming week we have a lot of work ahead of us, it is amazing! We could not contain our joy, and to add to all of that we had members coming up to us giving us references out of the wazoo!!!
