It is so crazy guys... my weeks are meshing into one!!! But let me try and pull something out of my mind. Saturday, we had a service activity at a widows house in our area. Lots of missionaries came and also the bishop! I have never seen this sister so happy, even though it was just a small service activity! It makes you realize that even how small the service, it can make someone's day! And the BEST part is that BOTH the RECEIVER and the GIVER are BLESSED!  It makes me want to be able to serve people more and more every day!



 

We have also been asked from the area 70 to ask EVERYONE for references, but specifically the strong members of the ward. We have be giving these amazing cards with Elder Ballard's challenge to invite at least 1 person to hear the missionaries every 3 months. It is something so little, but at the same time if every member could do that can you imagine how big the church would grow? Well we have been inviting members, and also in return we are asking the members to help us by constantly making sure we are being exactly obedient. So far we have gotten 4 references of non members, and we are going to have a family night with them tonight. I am really excited! This work is absolutely amazing, and brings such happiness and joy! I know that our leaders are truly inspired, and if we follow them we will be able to see this work grow! 

Well I have to go now, but I love you all! Have a great work, and keep praying for missionary experiences!

Hello Everyone!!!

Well this week was great! But to tell you the truth my weeks are starting to mush all together and go by really fast! So I don´t know if I already told you all this, but we have these amazing new members who have moved into our ward! They are the BEST member missionaries!!! They carry around pamphlets with them all the time and give us references. Well, we went and visited one of their references this week, and the lady is super sweet! She promised to even come to church with us next Sunday!  Missionaries are super appreciative to have references and help from the members! I can´t wait to continue being a member missionary all of my life and help the full time missionaries find people to save! This is the best work in the world, and I am so glad for the blessing of being a member of the only true church of Jesus Christ!

Also today we had our zone activity, and we played VOLLEYBALL!!!  It turned out to be mud volleyball because the court was all wet and muddy! But it was still fun! I hope you all have a great day as well! I love you all so much!

Hello Hello,

Well this week I just about died of heat! It has been in the 100´s and just to inform all of you... We don´t have air! So last night I decided to sleep on the floor, it is a lot cooler down there haha! But we keep doing what missionaries do, teach! And this week we had a really great experience! We were standing in the shade while I was looking for a name of some one that we once contacted in the street. After being unsuccessful we noticed a bunch of ladies staring at us. Well, we decided to go and talk to them. I think they had compassion on us because of the heat and let us in. Paraguayans are so nice! Well turns out that these ladies had been to the church a couple of times, and in fact the oldest daughter is a member. So we taught them a lesson about the love of Christ and His Atonement. I just love how the Spirit flows through you and puts all the words that you need in your mouth. I think they liked it a lot because they invited us to come back!

We also got a new ward mission leader this week, and wow... he is awesome! You can tell that he is really in tune with the spirit, and the best part is that he has all these new ideas. He and his wife even came on visits with us, and planned 2 activities to help bring more investigators in the church! He as already encouraged all the ward to help with missionary work which makes us super happy!!! I LOVE MISSIONARY WORK!!!!

So this week was just wonderful! We had some great lessons and found some amazing people! I just feel so blessed to be able to be serving a mission!!! I also wanted to share with you all a cute little Paraguayan tradition that they do here on the 6 of January. Most families celebrate Christmas similar to us, with Santa Claus and reindeer. Others celebrate Christmas a little different. On Christmas eve they all get together and eat dinner at midnight. They all gather around their mangers (which every single house has one outside in their lawn) and at midnight they place the baby Jesus in the manger. Then on January 6 they celebrate the day of the wise men. Supposedly that is how much time it took for the wise meant to bring gifts to Jesus (don´t ask me how they know that). All the young children will then write wish lists to the wise men and hang them in a tree. Then that night they put out their shoes and some hay and grass for the camels and go to bet. Then the next morning the wise men leave gifts in their shoes. Oh I almost forgot, after Christmas all the mangers characters face away from Jesus because they are traveling home. Pretty cool, huh?

 

 

I also want to share with you all something that I have been studying this week. I know that sometimes life in general it is not that easy. Life is full of disappointments, problems, trials, and challenges. It happens to every single person, and to some it might leave them in despair. But there is something that we as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints know that perhaps the world doesn´t. We know that Jesus came to this Earth, and that He knows us perfectly, ¨And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.¨  We know that only through Him that we may be saved. This gives us hope. This knowledge helps us make sacred covenants in the Holy Temples. We can receive a peace that only He can offer as we seek after these blessings.

 

I love a quote from Thomas S. Monson that says, ¨... No sacrifice is too great, no price too heavy, no struggle too difficult in order to receive those blessings.¨ If we can gain this eternal perspective on life´s purpose I know that we will receive the promised blessings that come to those who keep their covenants. I love being able to teach others about this truth. I have realized that everything that we do in the church points us in the direction the Temple. I know that if we follow Christs perfect example, it will all be worth it in the end. There might be rocks in the road, but there is nothing that we can´t over come. Christ suffered it all, so that we might return to the presents of Our Heavenly Father. I know that He lives, and that He loves us.
