Transfers!!!

Well... I have been transferred. I am now in an area called Loma Pyta, I am with the Hermana Argyle.

First of all can I just say that I love her so much! She is just the cutest thing, and we have already had so much fun together. Also I am in a city area, and the majority of the people here are pretty wealthy. I am not really use to these kind of areas, but I know that we will be able to find those souls that Heavenly Father has prepared. I am really excited to work in this area and to be with Hermana Argyle. Also I am living in an apartment with 2 other sisters again, one of them being Hermana MINKS!!!

A Sister who I started my mission with. I don't know how I get so blessed to always be with amazing Sisters!!!  But... there is only one thing that I am super worried about... there are mice in our house. Last night I had a nightmare that one was chasing me. 

So I thought it was hard saying bye to an area the first time, but the second time is so much worse. Plus President has changed the day he tells everyone about changes, so now we have less time to say goodbye. I have really grown to love the people in Ysapy, they are all so amazing. I am really sad as well because we had a few baptisms coming up, but I am still happy to know they are in great hands. 

My new area is really big so there are so many opportunities to find lots of new investigators. The members are also super great and have already made me feel at home. The land lord is really cute as well and told me my first day that she was excited to have a new daughter. This area is going to be great! Oh and I am in the zone of all the office elders and AP's and Sister leader trainers. And somehow it got out that I have a volleyball, so today we got to play. IT WAS SO FUN!!! There are a couple of missionaries that know how to play so it was a great game. 

Unfortunately the computer here won't let me send pictures, but I will try again next week. But I want you all to know how much I love you, and that I feel all of your prayers. Thank you for sharing all the missionary experiences that you are having, it just strengthens my testimony. I know this is the only true church. I know that Heavenly loves all His children. I know that he has a perfect plan. I know with all my heart The Book of Mormon is true, I absolutely love this book. I encourage you  all to continue the great work. I love you all. Week Of Miracles

Wow... Time just flies. But I want to share with you a bit of what happened this week. We found this AMAZING girl named Milagros, and she really is a miracle! We put a date with her, and you should have seen her eyes light up! She was so excited, then we gave her a Book of Mormon and she couldn't have been happier!!!! Then we visited her later this week, and guess what? She read 3 Nephi 11, and had it all memorized. She recited almost word for word!!!!! My cheeks hurt so bad because I was smiling so much! She also came to church with us along with a few other investigators. I feel like the Lord is just blessing us so very much, which makes me want to work harder to be worthy of this blessing! It is just the best in the whole wide world!!!!

1 YEAR!!!!

I LOVE MY MISSION! I love everything about it. I hope that I will be able to continue this work all throughout my life. It is the best thing in the whole wide world.

 I do not have time, but I will give you a few highlights. This week we had another zone conference with President. It so happened to fall on my 1 year birthday on the mission! It was amazing and all about love and charity. We also practiced setting dates for our investigators. It was funny because the next day Hermana Johnson and I got so excited that we set a date on the first visit of a new investigator. And she accepted it! It is so important that your investigators have a goal to work towards, or if not they won't progress. 

Yesterday we also had 2 or our investigators come to church. CHRISTIAN came!! He was only able to come because his dad was not home and he was able to escape! He loved it, and says that he is going to find a way to continue with the lessons. I know that Satan knows of his great worth, and that is why he is working so hard on him. But Heavenly Father always wins. Also, Carlos came which makes it his third assistance... he has a problem with drinking but he is working on that. I love seeing the difference this Gospel has on other peoples lives. Carlos also told us at the end of the meeting that he almost went up to share his testimony, but they ran out of time. So for sure next week. haha he is the greatest!!!

CONFERENCE WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LDS GENERAL CONFERENCE 

 

3 words- BEST. CONFERENCE. EVER. okay... I might say that every conference, but it was such a great experience this weekend! Can I just tell you that I love the Prophet and Apostles with all my heart! They are such amazing men! wow... Where do I even begin?



 PRESIDENT THOMAS S MONSON

Well I will start off with earlier in the week, with one of our golden investigators. His name is Christian, and I am sure I have talked about him before. Well we had the most amazing lesson with him as we shared our testimonies about the Restoration. It was amazing to see the difference we saw in his character. He had a new sense of confidence, and actually looked us in the eyes. He even told us that all his friends were asking why he was so different. He also told us we had questions about the Book of Mormon (Music to my ears!). He went on to ask us why Laman and Lemuel did not listen to their brother Nephi and their father Lehi. He continues by asking why Nephi killed Laban? and much much more! You know when they are actually reading when the have questions. He has also read every single day, so he is pretty far in the Book of Mormon. He also accepted his baptismal date, and was so excited! Sad news is, he was planning on going to conference with us this weekend, but his parents have forbidden him to go, also to stop taking lessons from us. It just broke our hearts, but we aren't going to give up.


 

But conference was absolutely amazing!!! I just want to share all my notes with you all, but there would be no time if I did that. So maybe just a few highlights.

I loved Chery Esplin's talk about the sacrament. I had actually been praying to find ways to make my sacrament experiences more meaningful.

 

 

I love how we can learn from Uchdorf's talk, how we can apply Moroni's promise in all that we do. Even as members! If we follow these steps we can strengthen our testimony.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Love one another as He has loved them x3 as Dallin H. Oaks says. It really helped me realize that kindness is essential, and even though we face differences everyday, we can react kindly.

 

 

 

 

And how amazing was Anderson's talk about Joseph Smith? He pointed out how opposition is necessary. If people did not have desires to seek out these questions, then they would have no reason to be sent to their knees. But they need to search the right tools. I also loved how he said to record your own voice reading the Prophet Joseph Smith's testimony.

 

 

 

 

Tad R. Callister? Wow.. It is so important to make sure that we are each saying our morning prayers, but have this spiritual armor every day.

And who wasn't moved by Elder Holland's talk? There is a reason why he is one of my favorites.

 

 

 

 

 

And did you guys notice how most of the talks had lots of similarities? And how it was later said from Nelson that when all the Apostles, Prophet, and leaders speak in unity it is because it is the voice of the Lord.

 

 

 

 

But I haven't even started with Sunday's session, but I probably won't have time. Just know that I absolutely LOVED every second of it! I hope you all did too! Thanks for sending your own favorite parts of the talks. It is so interesting to see the different views from each of you. Also big news, 2 of our investigators came to conference this weekend! They really loved the talks, and I can see such huge progression in them each and every day. The members were really welcoming as well, and even invited one of them to go hang out after the sessions. This work is amazing! 

I will send more notes next week! Oh and I also got to play volleyball today, and dad you would be so proud... I accidentally spiked the ball on some poor Elder!
