May 19, 2014

 This week was pretty good. Tuesday we had a special mission to perform. We got a call early in the morning from the mission nurse. She told us that the temple missionary that lived in our area was really sick. They were worried she was home all alone, because no one was answering the phone. They asked us to go pick up a list of medicine, and some food. We were giving instructions to have her take all these pills and also cook for her some food. So we took the mission and went and gathered all the stuff. Well, we got to her house and the Hermana refused to eat or take the medicine. I had to call our mission nurse and have the Hermana talk to her. After the Hermana started telling us stories... and boy does she LOVE to tell stories.... But I think it was to try and distract us from feeding her and giving her medicine. Luckily one of her daughters came over to cook and feed her mom. It was lucky too, because she should not be home alone.
Mothers day in Paraguay is the 15 of May, so my companion and I planned something to do for all the mothers. We made some heart cards and wrote little notes. We also planned on sharing Proverbs 3:15 with all of them. So that day we visited lots of mothers, and most of our lessons ended with tears. People don't realize how important mothers are, I being one of them. But Moms are the absolute best thing in the world, they are always there for their children. I am so blessed to have a wonderful mother who has sacrificed so much for me. I love my mom!!!!
Highlight of the week was contacting a reference that we received from a member. We went and found a barber who's name is Guillermo. We didn't have much information on him, only that he wanted a book of Mormon. Well we got talking to him and he started telling us how much the loves to read and he has never heard of the Book of Mormon. We told him a little of what it is about, and he asked where he could get one. {I love that question} So we pulled out a Book of Mormon and gave it to him! He was so excited and he told us over and over he was going to read it. He also asked if we could come back next week so we could teach him a little more about the Book. Yeah... he was prepared from the Lord. We were just blessed enough to be the instruments in the Lords hands.
Well I hope everyone had an amazing week. I love you all so much! Thanks for all the emails and letters!

Love,

It was such a wonderful boost! I have the best support system at home!

{Family Picture}
Well we were really excited to have 2 of our investigators at church yesterday and their families. I have noticed the harder we work and are constantly striving to be better we have more success in our mission. That is what I have been studying about this week. The more obedient and faithful we are the more blessings we receive. We also are qualified to have the spirit with us to help guide and direct us. We also got 2 more references of investigators who want to get baptized. I hope that we will be able to help them change their life and be on the path to eternal happiness.
I don't have a lot to write about this week, because I told you all yesterday. But I love you all, and I hope you made this Mother's day Special! What would we do without all the wonderful mothers in the world? Especially mine. I know I am here on my mission because of my wonderful mother and father. I know that this Church is true, and I am so very blessed to have been able to have parents to teach me and strengthen my testimony. Christ lives and he loves us all! I am so blessed to be able to share this with the people here in Paraguay.
I love you all! Have a great week.

Love,
Hermana Sanders

{Special Week}

Today at 3:13 PM

This week was pretty special. We had a fireside with one of the 70 two days this week, and also we found some new investigators.

Preach My Gospel
The fireside was amazing and we talked a lot about Preach My Gospel, and how we can better utilize this book and become better missionaries. Also we are going to start teaching the members about PMG and encouraging them to all have one in their house to study. It really is an inspired book, written from the prophets and apostles. It is such a wonderful tool to strengthen your testimony and teach others about the gospel. It is not only for missionaries, but for those who want to become spiritually more strong, just how Dad was writing about this week. (Same with mission prep, I would encourage all the youth to go and strengthen their abilities and knowledge). It must be so important because mission presidents, Area 70, and Apostles are talking about it with all the members of the church!!!  My companion and I also came out of the firesides with a list of stuff we are going to work on this week to become better missionaries and have more success.

Also, it is time for changes but my companion and I are staying together for at least one more. That will be good! We also had to wait in the office for more than 6 hours today, because my companion had to sign papers for immigrations. I didn't mind because I got to do some service with Hermana McMullin and also meet new sisters. Plus I studied some Portuguese.

Overall this week was pretty good. I can't wait to Skype this week! I love you all and hope you have a good week! Talk to you soon!!!
